Sitting up high, I felt like the lord of the world. The entirety of my friends sat underneath me and some sat next to me like Louis the XIV’s collaborators would sit by him. Since they were all underneath me, they all admired me. I would see that they leave my property joyfully with inviting occupants who deliberately selected them. A plenty of youthful outsiders would every now and again skirt to and fro along my path, getting and embracing my delicate and hairy subjects with joy. Every so often a portion of my companions ended up laying forlorn on the ground, however help consistently came.A a lot taller, endured looking outsider dropped by and cleared the powerless up and set them back on their racks. I never fell however, obviously. Nothing could contact me at that point, until I met the day that would bring my downfall as a ruler of my property. It was a typical day like each other. I was looking out for my friends with full expectation of insurance when I saw an impossib le to miss minimal outsider. This outsider was unique and not at all like all other little outsiders that got through my territory. Before I could enroll in my brain what was befalling me, I was being just barely gotten by the bad tempered alien’s hands. He crushed and squeezed all aspects of my body: ears, nose, hairs, tail, and paws. I was abused again and again as I was filtered and tossed into a plastic pack. Leaving my realm, I felt awkward warmth all over my body. I couldn’t see through the translucent sack, however the splendid light which went through blinded me.I was generally hurled into what I presently know is a transportation vehicle, hitting my head. Rapidly, the vehicle turned on, made an uproarious clamor, and started moving. It hit numerous knocks and I hit my head consistently leaving my whole body sore. I was being covered by the plastic pack I was contained in and before long lost cognizance. Inside minutes, my life had gone from enormity to nothing. I was previously the cherished lord of my kin, yet immediately turned into a deferential slave. I was tossed at dividers, cried into furniture, trampled the floor, and dropped in dirt.My face would be penetrated into the mud many occasions throughout the years. Thick canine drool would trickle down my nose, further dirtying my hide. All I needed was to be adored. All I needed was to be thought about. It wasn’t exc essively long until the outsider kid quit playing with me.The hound overlooked my reality too. The inclination was ambivalent. I wasn’t being abused any longer, and I wasn’t continually presented to agony and inconvenience, yet I felt alone like never before. Minutes felt like hours, hours felt like days, and days felt like weeks. I laid in a dusty corner for a considerable length of time confronting the worn-out divider, just ready to hear my environmental factors. This inclination was normal, regular to anybody overlooked and abused. This is the manner by which I figured I would spend endlessness. Before long life would change again for me.One morning I ended up in an enormous pack with numerous others like me. There were teddy bears, toy ponies, dolls, and vehicles. I was astonished to discover that they had been dealt with a similar way I had been by the outsider kid. Much the same as me, they all once had great lives which were torn away from them by the outsider. They were beaten and dirtied, yet in the end overlooked. We were taken to the transportation vehicle and hurled into it. It fired up, and inside minutes we were at our goal. Subsequent to being discharged out of the sack, my eyes met the essences of numerous young lady aliens.They rhapsodized over us, for their appearances were loaded up with grins as â€Å"oohs† and â€Å"ahhs† spilled out of their mouths. They ricocheted here and there with energy and expectation. One outsider delicately snatched my body and embraced me firmly to her chest. For the following a few hours she swung me outwardly swings and took me wherever she went. At night she would return me on the highest point of my rack †my new realm †for a rest and get me down again the following day. The entirety of the new little outsiders carried something to me I never had. They brought me love that I had longed for.

Dont forget about your transcripts! Hiya, everybody! I hope your summers are off to a great start; I mean, how could they not be? You’ve already been admitted, you’re finally graduating high school, and you’re gearing up to join the Illini family in the fall! However, don’t go into full relaxation summer mode yet, because we still need a couple things from you, including your transcripts. As always, I am here to walk you through the process. Our office needs your official, final high school transcripts by July 10. In order to count as your final high school transcripts, they must include your grades for years 9 through 12 and confirmation of graduation. If your final transcripts won’t be ready by then, you must send an official transcript with your grades from years 9 to 11 by July 10, followed by your final transcript as soon as its available. It’s important to remember that we do not take transcripts directly from students, so you should ask your high school to send your transcripts to us. High schools can send transcripts electronically to etranscript@illinois.edu, or paper copies can be mailed directly to our office. Now, there may be some special cases when you need to send additional materials to our office. Look below for some situations you may run into: Multiple U.S. high schools: If you’ve attended multiple U.S. high schools and your current school doesn’t list the grades from your previous school, you should send transcripts from both your current and previous high school. If your current school already includes the grades from your previous school, you only need to send us your final high school transcripts. International high schools: We need an official transcript for any international school you attended issued directly from that school. If you arent able to get an official copy from the issuing institution, well also accept a true, certified copy of the original issued from your current school. AP tests: These scores are sent electronically and directly from the testing agency. Contact CollegeBoard to get these scores to us! Dual credit classes:  If you took a  dual credit class, send us the official transcript from your previous institution that is awarding credit. Even if the coursework shows up on your high school transcripts, we need this transcript to award college  credit. International Baccalaureate:  If you’re a student at an IB school, you need to send us your  transcripts so we can verify term grades. If you are at an international school, you may also need to include your IB Diploma Certificate to verify a date of school completion. IB exam results should also be sent to  Measurement Evaluation  for  credit on campus. British system (GCSE/IGCSE/O Levels/A Levels):  Send Admissions your official final results. These can be sent by the testing agency or as a certified copy from your school. We understand that the official results for these exams are typically not available until August; please send everything else available in the meantime. You may send your statement of results to use for your high school completion; however, you will need to follow up by sending your official results to  receive credit for your A Levels. We cannot award credit using the statement of results. Indian Standard X and XII Exams:  You should have your  school send us a certified copy of your  official results. Transcripts without graduation dates:  Some international schools do not include graduation dates on the final high school transcript. In this case, please include your graduation certificate with your final transcript. Translations:  Records not issued in English must be accompanied by an English translation that is certified by an appropriate school official, official translator, and U.S. embassy or consulate official. College Application Season 101

If you are a high school senior, college application season is here! If you’re not, well this will give you a sneak peak for what is in store. Time to get excited like this adorable corgi! It is October which means you will want to start having a clear idea of which colleges you want to apply to. This means research schools of interest and find out their application requirements. You will also want to make an account with commonapp.org, the website that is the application platform for a large number of colleges in America. Common App makes your life easier because there is a primary form where you fill out your basic information, high school background, and personal statement. This primary form gets sent to all the schools that you apply to through Common App so that you don’t have to write your personal information and extracurricular activities over and over again! Photo by glee wiki If you are not applying to schools that use the Common App, go ahead and make an account with whatever platform your college of choice uses. For example, systems like the UC system have their own application website that functions similarly to the Common App. Other colleges may just have their very own application website specific to just their school. Whatever the case is, make sure you are proactive and figure out the correct means of applying to the colleges you are interested in. In terms of keeping track of all the applications, get a notebook and write down the deadlines for each school. Include specific deadlines for each college’s application deadline, deadline for the writing or art supplements, and financial aid deadlines. If you are lucky, you won’t have a huge number of different deadlines to pay attention to. As a general guideline however, UC schools hold application deadlines the end of November and most other schools hold application deadlines for January 1st. On a special note, if you plan on applying to a college early decision, the deadline is usually mid-November. If you don’t get in early decision, schools will notify you by mid-December so that you can finish getting your applications together for your backup schools in time for January 1st. The third most common type of deadline is for schools with â€Å"rolling admissions.† This means that the college accepts applications and sends out decisions throughout a set period of time. So a school might say they accept applications from October of your senior year through March of your senior year and you may get a decision from them at any point during that time. Weird†¦ I know, but at least you may hear back from schools before the usual end of March/April period that most schools report back decisions. The college application process is something new to all of you but nothing you can’t tackle! Conspiracy? I Don’t think So The first theories and speculations started as soon as the towers were struck that morning on September 11th, 2001, when news reporters where trying to guess what or who could be the cause. Many people started talking about 9/11 as a government act, saying that Bush set it all up to make a good excuse to go to war with the terrorists mostly for oil purposes. Many people to this day don’t know what to believe. The Pentagon crash, the Pennsylvania crash, and the World Trade Center buildings 1, 2, and 7’s collapse: It’s a lot to cover up if it was in fact a government act. It was impossible for the government to make and cover up a â€Å"False Flag Operation,† and that there is no conspiracy behind it at all. Conspiracy theorists that look at the September 11th attacks think it was fully a government act and that the Al-Qaeda had nothing to do with it. Theorists believe that the WTC buildings collapsed in an almost free fall manner from a controlled demolition. They also say that fire can’t make a steel building collapse by itself and that the steel from the wreckage was shipped overseas right away so there was no trace of evidence. Brent Blanchard is Director of Field Operations for Protec Documentations Services, a company that documents demolitions. He takes the most talked about questions about 9/11 demolitions, and puts them to rest. First, he states that the WTC towers didn’t come down in a controlled demolition or a free fall. He writes, â€Å"Actual implosion demolitions always start with the bottom floors. Photo evidence shows the lower floors of WTC 1 and 2 were intact until destroyed from above†(Blanchard 43). Branchard also says that the buildings collapsed like they should have. They’re not supposed to topple over like trees because the buildings are too big, leading to a straight collapse in its footprints. Education Is An Essential Means For A Meaningful Life

Education is an essential means to a meaningful life. It’s what separates humans from animals. Is it even possible to imagine a life without any type of education? Where would humans be if there weren’t any education to help develop one’s brain? Equally important is the type of education a person receives throughout that person’s impressionable life. Most people have experienced different types of education during a person’s life, from their parents, to their teachers, to their friends, and through self-education. Everyone remembers the quality education that was presented in a way that had him or her buy into the material being taught. Obviously the same is true for the polar opposite of that fact. Authors Paulo Freire and James Loewen have wrote great essays on the education systems they come from and experienced. They have taken a deep look at the education world and documented it for people to learn from it. Even though the two authors are from complete different walks of life, it’s interesting and valuable to notice the differences and yet have similar points of view. The common idea both authors share is the education system has major issues and can be repaired by educators. Freire wrote the â€Å" The Banking Concept of Education† which pointed out that educators are above students, which are viewed as completely stupid and uneducated.
